I’ve lived in Maine, Beijing, and New York, but I currently lay my head in St. John’s, Newfoundland, a city with crummy weather but excellent fish and chips. I’ve cooked for money on occasion, but mostly I cook for fun. Recently, I’ve been baking, mostly sourdoughs and bagels.
I like to play outside, sleep on the ground, and travel light. I’m a Registered Maine Guide. And if there’s one thing I miss about living in China, it’s the dumplings.
You can find the details of my work history on my resume. But in brief, I’ve been working as a journalist and a web designer for somewhere between five and three years, depending on where you start counting. I’ve written feature magazine articles in the US, China, and Canada, and I’ve worked extensively in multimedia. I’ve been building websites, including this one, since 2008.
I’m available for hire in almost any capacity.
